4.7 for me. A little restaurant on the side that could be missed if you’re not looking for it. But you should definitely look for it. We came on a Monday at like 2, I would come back. Next time would probably be for brunch. But yeah the yams were really good. And the portion size?? Wow. It was a great amount. The Mac & cheese was cool. Shrimp was cool. I just wish it was a bit warmer when it came out. That cornbread muffin?? Yes indeed. That was great! Jerk crab fries, I think they should put the topping in the middle to avoid the soggy fires but it wasn’t bad! We parked in the lot in the back. So gotta walk a little bit.

This restaurant is a gem in Hyattsville. The food is packed with flavor and spice if that’s what you like! The beautiful Joy offered us samples to help our decision making and not one dish disappointed! This is definitely a spot we will visit again. We had: greens/cabbage, honey salmon, jerk crab cakes...Yummy!!

If I could give the food more stars it would be off the charts! Customer service great, our server was cool and the night shift manager came out and chatted with us and was super cool. What we ordered: -Not yo Momma Penne Pasta: So good ! -OXTAIL Hawaiian Rolls: Yummy! Dip it in the sauce it comes with and Mmmmm Delicious! -Jerk Crab Fries: Bomb -Jerk Chicken Dinner: Best Jerk we’ve ever had! Just the right amount of spice if you like spicy. Special mention: I want to thank the stranger (customer )in the restaurant who we learned identified himself as “Mateo”. I simply asked the gentleman how the Oxtail Hawaiian Rolls since I saw him eat them and he not only said they were great but told me his favorite dishes here. Long short, I went to the bathroom and when I came out the stranger was gone but not before ordering me his must haves. He covered the charge and I never got to thank him for this super kind gesture. So to the stranger, Mateo, I will certainly pay it forward and you sir surely didn’t disappoint because your gift was some of the best damn food I’ve had! So Mateo ordered us: The super star of the meals we had: -The crab Mac and cheese! I threw my body back and slapped the table! Dip a lil bit of that jerk sauce and uuffff -Hot honey Salmon- Delicious -Candied Yams: So darn yummy Enjoy y’all, I’m coming back and bringing everyone! My coworker introduce me to this amazing restaurant called sugar and spice off of Baltimore Avenue and I told myself that I was gonna give it a shot and when I say amazing services from start to finish beautiful. The pasta called your mama taste so good . I’m not a big fan of spice but it was delicious. I spoke with the waitress and owner and they said next time I can let them know to mold down the spice lol . My son love the fried shrimp lemon pepper, I should have told the guy to add extra shrimp next time .

I was a little skeptical at first as the place was empty when I arrived. I ordered to go, as I mainly found this place for my grandfather who wanted spicy lamb. The cashier was nice and helped make recommendations. I ordered jerk lollipop lamb chops with the Mac and cheese, and collard greens. I also ordered Jerk crab cakes with yams, collard greens and cornbread. The food took about 25 minutes to cook which I could appreciate as I knew it would be fresh. I requested all sides to be boxed separately. The food was still hot after a 37 minute ride home which was a plus. The taste test alone had us both sold, everything was very good, flavorful and cooked to perfection. We paid 85 for two plates and we will definitely be back again!

9/10 would recommend!! Came with my friend. I think we were both craving soul food and Suga and Spice did not disappoint me. Good music, good food and friendly staff. I ordered the lemon pepper hot honey drizzle shrimp as an entree with yams and macaroni and cheese. I’d order it again for sure!!! The serving sizes are generous and the flavor was there! Cornbread muffin was hot and buttery, I loved it! Would come back to see about their Taco Tuesday and brunch.
